The FM manages a site Facilities team to ensure all Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost targets are met or exceeded. It is a hands-on role where the person will be actively involved in supporting the team in carrying out tasks. He/She will manage all aspects of the team across all shifts. This role will be responsible for, or assist with, new hires, develop, and carry out performance management reviews of team members to deliver the business objectives.
Main duties and responsibilities
* Demonstrates strong leadership and a clear work ethos within the team.
* Day-to-day people management with feedback given to technicians and effective management and allocation of resources.
* Develops technicians by planning training to advance their skills.
* Implements and manages strategic engineering goals, objectives, and KPIs.
* Attends all tier 1 meetings and takes ownership of Facilities actions. Ensures tier 2 actions are closed timely.
* Ensures smooth shift transitions where required.
* Manages Facilities and client procedures, with assigned process owners.
* Handles non-conformances (NCs) and Corrective Action Plans (CAPAs), ensuring closure.
* Reviews open work orders to ensure efficient equipment operation and maintenance.
* Performs planned preventative maintenance as per the Plant CMMS.
* Proactively identifies and remedies equipment issues to maximize uptime.
* Coordinates with the Maintenance Manager to respond to technical and non-technical queries, ensuring SLA compliance.
* Oversees fault finding and repairs, coordinating external service engineers when needed.
* Manages subcontractors, ensuring compliance with site and company training requirements.
* Coordinates and issues work orders for facility activities, ensuring follow-ups are completed.
* Ensures all work permits are in place.
* Maintains records in line with GMP requirements.
* Ensures full compliance with 6S standards.
* Keeps the client informed about equipment issues.
* Ensures adherence to EHS procedures, contributing to safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement targets.
* Coordinates shift patterns, holiday coverage, and overtime.
* Conducts performance reviews with the team.
* Ensures team compliance with site Quality procedures.
* Manages operational aspects of client subcontractors.
Qualifications and Experience
* Third-level engineering qualification or senior trades experience.
* Experience in maintenance or facilities roles within highly regulated environments.
* Strong financial, systems, and process knowledge.
* Excellent problem-solving skills.
