Deskside Support 2nd levelOnsite, contractAbout the CompanyMy client is a leading games company based in Dublin.About the PositionWe are seeking a skilled and proactive 2nd Level Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team on a contract basis. The role involves providing onsite and remote support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, technically proficient, and comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Support:Provide 2nd level support for Windows-based desktops, laptops, peripherals, and software applications.Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues remotely and onsite.Perform installations, upgrades, and repairs of PCs, laptops, and other end-user devices.Replace and upgrade components such as RAM, storage drives, keyboards, and other hardware as required.Assist with mobile device support (laptops, tablets, smartphones) as needed.Troubleshoot network connectivity and basic printer issues.User Support & Communication:Act as escalation point for 1st level support issues.Ensure timely and professional communication with end-users.Provide guidance to users on IT processes and best practices.IT Asset & Configuration Management:Maintain accurate inventory of all IT assets (hardware, peripherals, software licenses).Record and update devices in the CMDB (Configuration Management Database).Support audits by providing accurate asset and configuration data.Track lifecycle of IT equipment including deployment, warranty, and disposal.Process & Documentation:Create and update technical documentation, user guides, and knowledge base articles.Follow ITIL-aligned incident, problem, and change management processes.Escalate major incidents and problems to appropriate IT teams.Experience/RequirementsProven experience in a 2nd level desktop support or similar role.Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Office 365, and common enterprise applications.Hands-on experience building, upgrading, and repairing PCs and laptops.Understanding of IT asset management and CMDB practices.Ability to troubleshoot network and peripheral issues.Strong customer service and communication skills.Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.Familiarity with ITIL processes is a plus.Remuneration PackageA good rate is on offer as well as the opportunity to work in a really good working environment.ContactPlease contact Derek Smyth on or email or simply click the apply button.To view all live jobs with Brightwater and market insights, please visit our website
