Job Purpose
Lead and deliver TCFG’s Sustainability Strategy & Goals
Reports To
Head of Innovation & Sustainability
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the delivery of all Sustainability Goals for The Culinary Food Group
* Lead the company’s Sustainability Working Group & Sustainability Champions in delivering on all of TCFG’s sustainability requirements
* Lead cross functional teams in delivering the company’s Sustainability Targets
* Develop a data‑led process for opportunity identification and quantification of benefits and establish the processes and practices to deliver clear reports on all deliverables
* Promote and manage the strategic sustainability agenda with customers and key external advisors
* Create project opportunities for TCFG that will allow the business to operate in a more sustainable manner with the aim of minimising the footprint we leave behind in our community
* Liaise with the Senior Management Team to ensure that the Sustainability Solutions integrate with other parts of the business to deliver improvement in business operations, efficiency, resourcing, cost management and to also ensure a seamless customer experience
* Analyse and report on global sustainability developments at commercial, consumer and policy level, including analysis of sustainability programs and progress in peer companies to inform our strategy
* Co‑Ordinate the project teams and all data required to create and manage the company’s Origin Green commitments
* Manage the Repak returns for the business on time in full
* Partake in the company’s ISO programs; 50001 & 14,001 and report on all TCFG aspects
* Lead the close out of all Environmental non‑conformances for the business
* Partake in the company’s continuous improvement program and drive Green Lean initiatives within our operations
* Prepare and manage all sustainability reports including the Origin Green Report and CSR Report for TCFG
* Prepare and submit necessary reports and updates internally as well as to key external stakeholders such as Bord Bia, Enterprise Ireland, SEAI, Repak etc on time in full against targeted return dates
* Represent TCFG as the sustainability champion both internally and externally, attending customer and internal presentations as required
* Input into the business marketing strategy and champion the sustainability pillar. Provide information and key data to develop digital and corporate marketing materials for PR purposes for TCFG
* Co‑ordinate/manage responses to all customer / key external stakeholder requests in a timely and professional manner
* Introduce Biodiversity and environmental initiatives at site level for each of the businesses that will positively contribute to the company’s impact on their community
* Partner with our existing customers to advance our customers sustainability efforts and further develop the businesses sustainable offering
* Lead, maximise and be accountable for any/all applications for state aid and assistance for sustainability projects
* Communicate and motivate internal behaviours and actions on sustainability in our business
Skills / Qualifications / Experience
* The ideal candidate will have a technical, environmental or sustainability background suited to the complexities of the food sector with a minimum of 2+ years’ experience in the food industry
* Sustainability / Environmental related Degree or equivalent required
* Competence in reporting systems, project management and regulatory compliance is required
* Ability to build a close working relationship with other functions who will be key to delivering on the projects
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Strong people engagement skills
* Proven project management capabilities
* Self‑starter with an appetite to embrace new challenges as they arise
* Strong attention to accuracy in their daily work, and a high level of accomplishment and motivation
* Strong record of delivering results to meet the needs of internal and external customers
* Strategic thinker with ability to analyse sustainability topics relevant to our business
* Possess motivational skills oriented towards encouraging people’s best performance possible
Note: As with all positions, due to the dynamic nature of Arrow Group business, key responsibilities will evolve and change over time. Some travel will be required. Appointment to this role is subject to the candidate’s eligibility to work in Ireland.
