About the Role:
The Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This involves overseeing daily site operations, managing resources, and enforcing health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop detailed project schedules and work plans to ensure efficient project execution
* Oversee daily site operations to ensure work progresses according to schedule and quality requirements, meeting client expectations
* Monitor and evaluate the performance of site staff and subcontractors, providing constructive feedback for improvement
* Enforce health and safety regulations and conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards
* Manage procurement and efficient use of materials, equipment, and labour to minimize costs and optimize resource allocation
* Serve as primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and project stakeholders, facilitating effective communication
* Monitor project expenses and manage cost variations to ensure financial discipline
* Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, minimizing project downtime and delays
* Maintain comprehensive site records and prepare project reports to track progress and inform future decision-making
* Supervise, motivate, and mentor site personnel to enhance their skills and performance
Requirements:
* Able to lead and motivate teams to achieve project goals efficiently, fostering a positive work culture
* Skilled in planning, organising, and executing construction projects within scope, time, and budget, with excellent problem-solving abilities
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
* Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve on-site challenges effectively, driving continuous improvement
* Team-oriented approach with ability to build strong working relationships, promoting collaboration and trust
* Comprehensive understanding of construction methods, materials, and building regulations to ensure compliance and best practices
