Buyer - Manufacturing Galway Permanent Role

You will be joining a well-established and growing manufacturing organisation based in Galway, known for its commitment to innovation, quality, and operational excellence. The company supplies to global markets and is investing in its procurement function to support continued growth.
As Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of raw materials, components, and indirect goods to support production schedules and business operations. You will work closely with suppliers, production teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery, cost control, and quality compliance.
Key responsibilities
* Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and reliable delivery schedules
* Raise and manage purchase orders in line with MRP requirements
* Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues
* Support cost reduction initiatives and supplier development programs
* Maintain accurate procurement records and support audit compliance
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including planning, engineering, and finance
Criteria
* 2+ years' experience in a purchasing or buying role, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
* Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* A relevant qualification in supply chain, business, or engineering is desirable
