This package consists of nursing (RCN/RGN/RNID) for 7 x 8 hour nights and 5 x 8 hour days (Monday to Saturday), total of 96 hours per week.
We require nursing staff who have experience in caring for a baby with a tracheostomy who requires frequent nebulisation and suctioning, caring for a baby on oral feeds, caring for a baby who requires administration of medication orally. Role of Registered General Nurse:
To provide safe, quality, person-centred care to a Child within their home environment. The successful candidate will be part of a Nurse-led care team providing clinical care in a home setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in Paediatric care and be able to work flexible hours, including day and night shifts.
Nurses must demonstrate that they have the desired competencies to care for this child. The nursing needs for this child are as follows:
* Competent in all tracheostomy care, changing of ties, suctioning and changing tracheostomy tube in an emergency situation.
* Monitoring skin integrity around tracheostomy stoma and observing for any signs of skin breakdown.
* Management and administration of nebs and suctioning via tracheostomy tube
* Monitoring for signs and symptoms of respiratory distress
* Medication Management
Responsibilities Include...
* Provide nursing care to a child
* Gastrostomy tube feeds via feeding pump
* Competent in all tracheostomy care, changing of ties, suctioning and changing tube in an emergency situation
* Management and administration of nebs and suctioning
* Monitoring for signs and symptoms of respiratory distress
* Pressure area care
* Medication Management
* Seizure management
* Care of a child with a disability
* Manage enteral feeding and medication
* Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
* Manage seizures
* Provide play and family support
* Provide excellent evidence-based nursing care, implementing all aspects of care plans based on the needs identified.
* Prioritise the needs and comfort of the client.
* Promote abilities, independence, and safeguard the client's interests at all times
* Work closely in partnership with family members and the clinical team
* Communicate effectively with the client, family, clinical team, and MDT, reporting on the client's clinical needs as required.
* Maintain accurate and professional clinical note

Qualifications & Experience
* Current registration on the live register of NMBI
* RGN/RCN trained
* Paediatric nursing experience is desirable
* Previous experience in home care is an advantage, full training and support provided
