Equestrian Training Programme
The Equestrian Training Programme is a comprehensive 2-year full-time vocational training initiative. This programme aims to equip learners with the knowledge, skills, and competence necessary to succeed in a broad range of equine skills.
* Deliver the Equestrian Training Programme, encompassing all yard-based activities, QQI modules, and other programme requirements.
* Collaborate with SOLAS to deliver QQI training modules at level 4 on the National Framework of Qualifications.
* Contribute to the annual evaluation of the training programme's delivery.
Learner Engagement and Support
* Ensure learner opportunities for fair and consistent assessment to achieve named QQI awards.
* Support learner career development and facilitate work experience placements.
* Foster student engagement in monthly educational community-based activities, prioritizing learner health and safety during off-site events.
* Act as a mentor and advocate for learners to support achievement of individual goals in collaboration with the ELC team.
* Promote person-centred planning through individualised training plans and progress reports.
* Maintain effective communication with learner family members/guardians and/or support persons as appropriate.
Programme Administration
* Accurately maintain and update training and assessment records for learners according to QQI accredited Quality Assurance Programme and SOLAS Training Standards System guidelines.
* Work closely with the Equestrian Training Programme Coordinator to ensure consistency in programme quality assurance procedures set by SOLAS and agreed with QQI.
Professional Development and Education
* Identify and address learning needs required to enhance programme facilitation within Festina Lente.
* Participate in committees as directed by the Equestrian Training Programme Coordinator.
Health, Safety, and Wellbeing
* Monitor, report, and take action on any matter detrimental to learner safety and wellbeing.
* Document incident reporting and near miss events.
* Complete and review risk assessments, developing a positive risk management plan for learner protection.
* Adhere to internal policies and procedures, along with relevant Health & Safety legislation.
