The Salthill Hotel has an exciting job opportunity for an experienced C&B Manager to join our team. This key position involves managing events hosted in the hotel and working closely with the Wedding & Events Manager as well as the wider team to ensure the smooth running of these events.
Your Responsibilities
1. Monitor, coordinate, and communicate event bookings, ensuring billing accuracy, maintaining up-to-date profiles, and recording client feedback post-event.
2. Upsell products and services throughout all event processes to maximize revenue.
3. Manage the Conference & Banqueting Team to maximize employee productivity and satisfaction.
4. Ensure timely training and event briefings prior to all events.
5. Conduct detailed passovers after each function and leave comprehensive briefs for other management in your absence.
6. Monitor department service quality and interaction with other departments.
7. Maintain knowledge of departmental equipment, including technical AV systems, and train staff accordingly.
8. Ensure accurate charges for meetings, conferences, and dinners, and follow through prior to guest departure.
9. Work closely with Sales and other Food & Beverage outlets to ensure compliance with event specifications.
10. Supervise room setup in accordance with customer specifications and inspect function rooms before events.
11. Check room comfort, lighting, equipment, and temperature; report maintenance issues.
12. Manage inventory of banquet equipment and supplies, liaising with the operations manager for ordering.
13. Achieve profit goals by aligning rates with hotel profit objectives.
14. Follow up with guests to ensure satisfaction, measure results, and develop strategies for service improvement.
15. Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, dress, appearance, and conduct among staff.
16. Implement strategies to enhance guest service, food production, and efficiency.
17. Understand pricing structures and maximize opportunities during peak and off-peak periods.
18. Know key competitors and their strengths and weaknesses compared to our group.
19. Build relationships with customers and handle queries proactively.
20. Attend all major functions and weddings.
21. Ensure all hotel policies are implemented and service/presentation standards are met.
22. Adhere to Health & Safety procedures and other company policies.
23. Meet and greet clients during events and ensure smooth handovers to the operations team.
24. Attend weekly HOD meetings or receive briefings if unable to attend.
25. Collaborate with other departments for effective event management.
Duty Manager
As part of your role, you will be the manager on duty when designated, responsible for:
1. Ensuring hygiene and cleanliness standards are met across the hotel.
2. Conducting property walks, reporting maintenance issues, and addressing health and safety concerns.
3. Staff briefings and maintaining optimal staffing levels.
4. Prioritizing customer experience and exceeding expectations.
5. Monitoring staff presentation, grooming, and adherence to policies.
