We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Buyer / Inventory Planner to join our team in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with strong purchasing and inventory planning experience to play a key role in supporting customer service excellence and stock management performance.
About the Role
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will manage the purchasing process centrally for a portfolio of products and suppliers, ensuring optimal stock availability to meet customer demand while maintaining cost efficiency.
The successful candidate will have strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience working with ERP systems in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage inventory replenishment and maintain ERP data for MRP forecasting and stock planning
Ensure replenishment parameters support excellent customer service while optimising stock levels and costs
Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Negotiate and coordinate branch stock cleanses and aged stock reduction initiatives
Monitor supplier performance and gather market intelligence to support negotiations and supplier development
Resolve supplier invoice and debit note queries efficiently
Manage urgent purchasing requests and provide regular updates to stakeholders
Attend supplier and operational meetings as required
Escalate urgent issues appropriately and support management reviews of critical orders
Deliver a consistently high level of customer and stakeholder service
Support additional ad hoc purchasing and inventory tasks when required
About You
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Buyer or Inventory Planning role
Experience managing a large customer or supplier base
Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and MRP processes
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
The ability to work collaboratively across departments and with suppliers
Strong problem‑solving and conflict‐resolution abilities
The ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Fluent written and spoken English
