An exciting opportunity is available for a
Microbiology Laboratory Technician
to join a leading Life Sciences company at their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in
Clonmel
.
This role is ideally suited to a candidate with academic exposure to Microbiology (classroom and/or laboratory) who is looking to gain hands-on experience in a cGMP-regulated environment.
Prior industry experience is not required, as structured training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct routine sampling activities to support manufacturing operations in a cGMP-compliant environment
Perform environmental monitoring of manufacturing suites under supervision
Carry out basic microbiological testing, including plate reading and water testing
Assist with dosimetry-related activities, including dose mapping and routine equipment checks, following established procedures
Ensure all activities are completed in line with regulatory requirements, company policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Support the day-to-day operation of the dosimetry laboratory
Prepare and maintain accurate laboratory documentation in accordance with GDP requirements
Assist with validation and equipment qualification activities as required
Support data review activities under supervision
Provide support during investigations and deviation activities as needed
Promptly elevate any unplanned events or out-of-specification results to the Supervisor
Assist in the collection and trending of environmental and product monitoring data
Education & Experience
Third-level qualification in Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline
Academic laboratory experience in Microbiology is essential
Strong interest in gaining experience within a regulated manufacturing environment
Knowledge of GMP/GLP principles is desirable
Exposure to laboratory-based work (e.g. Microbiology, Chemistry, or related) is advantageous
Familiarity with sterilisation technologies or ISO ***** is beneficial but not required

This is a fixed-term contract role not expected to extend beyond August
