An exciting opportunity is available for a Software Engineer to join a specialist CAD and Design Automation team in Cork.
This role sits within a globally distributed So C engineering organization and focuses on building software solutions that support and accelerate advanced semiconductor design flows.
The position is well suited to engineers who enjoy combining software development, automation, and hardware-aware workflows in a collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain automation tools and reference flows used in ASIC and So C implementation.
Contribute to the successful delivery of software projects by meeting technical and timeline objectives.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues throughout the development lifecycle.
Work closely with peers to ensure clean, reliable, and well-tested code.
Continuously evaluate and enhance: Testing and quality processes.
Build and execution environments.
Technical documentation.
Provide technical support and debugging assistance for internal design teams using the tools.
Collaborate effectively with engineers across multiple sites and time zones.
Education Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related discipline with industry experience in ASIC or So C-related roles, Master's degree with relevant hands-on experience or Ph D in a related technical field.
Desired Skills and Experience Strong foundation in software development, ideally within engineering or EDA environments.
Proficiency working in Linux-based systems and using version control tools such as Git.
Practical experience developing applications or automation using Python.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and debug complex technical problems.
Exposure to TCL and/or C++ is advantageous.
Familiarity with RTL design or verification concepts is beneficial.
Comfortable working with globally distributed engineering teams.
Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines in a fast-moving technical setting.
