Job Title: Specialist Breast Care Physician
The appointed Consultant will be responsible for leading the development of, and participating in, all duties and functions pertinent to their area of competence.
This position involves administrative duties as delegated by the Head of Department or the Clinical Director, including potential leadership roles within the department.
Clinically, the appointee will maintain clinical autonomy relating to patient management and care, develop individualised care plans for patients under their charge, and participate in ward rounds, theatre activity, diagnostic/treatment activity, outpatient clinics, and case conference activities.
Key responsibilities include:
* Implementation of standards providing safe quality care, timely diagnosis, and focused treatment in line with prescribed treatment protocols and international best practice
* Supervision of audits and research carried out by Specialist Registrars/Registrars
* Participation in education sessions for healthcare professionals and undergraduate students
* Research and audit performance
Required skills and qualifications include:
* Clinical care: Provision of high standard care to patients according to statutory and regulatory bodies
* Communication: Effective verbal and non-verbal communication with patients, colleagues, hospital staff, and management
* Administration & Management Skills: Proficiency in managing staff and services, participating in hospital management structures
* Organizational Awareness: Understanding of the structure and governance of this and similar organisations
