We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HSQE-focused Site Engineer to join our team in Maynooth, Kildare.
Responsibilities
Health, Safety, Quality & Environment (HSQE)
Implement and monitor the company's Safety Statement and HSQE management systems.
Ensure compliance with statutory HSE legislation and internal safety requirements.
Prepare and brief Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Toolbox Talks.
Identify and report unsafe practices or conditions promptly.
Take responsibility for site safety in the absence of the Project Manager or Site Agent.
Oversee quality control in line with company quality plans, inspection/test plans, and method statements.
Site Engineering & Management
Liaise with internal teams (planning, design, commercial, construction, HSQE) and external stakeholders (local authorities, utility providers, consultants).
Interpret and review specifications, drawings, and contract documents.
Perform surveying, setting out, and levelling tasks on site.
Prepare site reports, technical documentation, as-built drawings, and daily diaries.
Manage requisitions for plant, materials, and equipment in coordination with the purchasing department.
Supervise site operatives and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project standards.
Resolve technical issues with input from consultants, suppliers, and statutory authorities.
Planning & Project Support
Assist site foremen with planning and reviewing upcoming works.
Contribute to post-construction reviews to inform future project planning.
Support project budget monitoring, cost tracking, and resource allocation.
Monitor programme progress and assist in mitigating delays or cost overruns.
Coordinate site facilities and plant to meet project deadlines.
Requirements
Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of Water/Wastewater Engineering is preferred.
Membership (or working towards) a relevant professional institution.
Practical site experience through placements, volunteering, or similar projects.
Strong commitment to safety, sustainability, and quality delivery.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
