Grade VIII-Head of Quality, Patient Safety & Risk
We are seeking an experienced leader to direct and coordinate all aspects of the services Quality, Safety and Risk (QSR) function.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement quality improvement programmes aligned with national standards.
* Manage clinical risk, conduct incident investigations, and promote learning through open disclosure and systemic analysis.
* Oversee the services Quality Management System, Clinical Audit Programme, and Risk Register maintenance.
* Support the integration of risk and quality strategies into hospital operations, fostering a proactive patient safety culture.
* Coordinate internal and external audits, statutory reporting, and claims coordination.
* Provide leadership insights through detailed data analysis, KPIs, and performance reporting.
* Facilitate staff development, cross-functional collaboration, and training across clinical and non-clinical areas.
* Represent the hospital at external forums and national-level quality and safety initiatives.
Essential Criteria:
* Minimum of 5 years senior managerial experience in a quality and patient safety role within an acute hospital inpatient setting.
* A Level 8 (or higher) qualification in a clinical discipline or in Risk/Quality in Healthcare.
* Proven track record in incident management, risk assessment, quality improvement, and stakeholder engagement.
* Advanced knowledge of Irish healthcare standards, relevant legislation, and national policy frameworks.
* Strong leadership, decision-making, analytical, and communication skills.
