A well-established and highly regarded engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join their growing team in Dublin or Cork. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer to work on a diverse range of projects while contributing to the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality structural design solutions.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and project teams, taking responsibility for structural design, site inspections, and collaboration with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to a Director / Team Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Preparing preliminary structural scheme design options for review and approval.
Producing structural design calculations and drawings in accordance with Eurocodes and Irish Building Regulations.
Reviewing drawings and designs prepared by other design team members and external consultants.
Carrying out site inspections, including checking steel reinforcement prior to concrete pours and reviewing general workmanship on site.
Providing practical solutions to engineering challenges while ensuring designs are safe, economical, and structurally efficient.
Liaising with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams throughout project delivery.
Supporting the continued growth and development of the engineering team.
Undertaking additional duties as required.
Requirements
A third-level qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Chartered or near-chartered status preferred, with a minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience.
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
Practical experience with a variety of construction methods and materials.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to produce accurate calculations.
Strong project management and organisational skills.
A proactive approach with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Flexibility and the ability to adapt within a dynamic and evolving work environment.
