Purpose Of The Role
The Transport Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our fleet, ensuring the efficient and timely completion of all bin collection routes and bin deliveries. This role involves coordinating drivers, optimizing route planning, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. In addition, the Transport Supervisor will be responsible for staff management, including scheduling, performance monitoring, and providing support to ensure a motivated and efficient workforce. Strong problem-solving skills are essential to address any operational challenges and maintain high service standards. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring smooth logistics, and excellent customer satisfaction.
Reporting to
: Group Transport Operations Manager
General Duties
Day-to-day tasks such as route planning, resource allocation and driver/helper supervision
Help manage driver/helper recruitment, training, action plans, and targets
Appraise and manage performance, development, coaching, and general support of all team members to ensure targets are met
Schedule daily and weekly routes and rosters
Planning, organising, and managing all team members to ensure work is completed and consistent with the companys standards
Liaise with the garage to ensure fleet is maintained and road ready
Work collaboratively with all internal teams to foster a culture of continuous process improvement & to ensure a united vision when communicating with customers
Assist in RSA inspections
Working together with the Health & Safety department to ensure safety procedures are adhered toat all times.
Leading by example and applying company policy and procedures in a fair, consistent and unbiased manner
Additional ad hoc duties
Requirements
5 years + experience in transport management
Strong IT skills
Proven leadership skills
Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills
Must possess a full category B drivers licence
Category C drivers licence is an advantage
Strong knowledge of the surrounding geographical areais an advantage
Strong knowledge of the Department of Transport regulations is an advantage (legislation, Work Time Directive etc.)
Salary:
From €40,000 to€50,000
Hours of work:
45 hours /week
