Job Title
A systems engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of industrial processes. Their expertise lies in the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex control systems.
The core responsibilities of this position revolve around providing professional engineering services. This includes but is not limited to:
* Ensuring the Siemens PCS7 central control system operates efficiently and effectively.
* Managing servers and control system software, as well as communication networks.
* Designing and programming software for projects and plant modifications.
* Performing software modifications, fault finding, PID loop setup and tuning, and assisting engineers with control system issues.
* Commissioning and signal checking for projects and plant modifications.
* Maintaining operator stations and plant visualization software.
* Coordinating the uploading of new software and upgrades where necessary.
* Collaborating with expert engineers from Control System suppliers.
This role requires an individual with a strong technical background and knowledge of Siemens PCS7 control systems. The ideal candidate should possess:
* A minimum of 5 years' relevant hands-on experience in industry, combined with a degree or similar qualification in a technical engineering related discipline.
* Experience with PCS7, Step 7, Simatic Manager Siemens PCS7, and WinCC.
* Proficiency with Windows operating systems, security, and network configuration.
* Expertise in PLC programming languages: CFC, FBD, and STL.
* Some exposure to SQL and high-level programming languages.
* Familiarity with system archiving/restoration and OT cyber security tools and practices.
* Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
* Proven technical skills and business acumen.
