Your work authorization must permit you to fulfill the contract terms.Application requirements include:A letter of introduction demonstrating how you meet the criteriaA completed online application form (separate for each position)Job Purpose:The role of Finance Business Partner involves working closely with faculties and divisions, providing real-time support, analysis, and strategic advice to senior management and key personnel. The position is part of the broader performance team within the Chief Financial & Performance Officer’s area, focusing on performance analysis and financial strategy implementation.The primary focus is on performance management within faculties/divisions, involving analysis, insights, and support to non-finance senior managers. The role aims to ensure timely, accurate, and relevant financial information to inform management decisions, embedding best practices across faculties and divisions.The Finance Business Partner will collaborate with budget managers and senior management, developing and implementing financial strategies aligned with the university’s objectives and values.Key Responsibilities:Lead the planning, development, approval, and communication of five-year income and expenditure plans for the faculty/division.Coordinate with Management Planning and Reporting (MPR) for annual and multi-annual budgets.Lead the budget process, providing analysis and insights on income, costs, student numbers, staff planning, and other financial metrics.Support deans/division heads in budget allocation and management.Provide coaching, consultancy, and training on financial matters to managers and staff.Review and report on financial performance regularly, providing insights and recommendations.Identify financial risks and advise on mitigation strategies.Influence business decisions and strategies as a key member of management teams.Advise on financial matters and report decisions to relevant stakeholders.Identify opportunities for cost efficiency and financial improvement.Support the development of new programs and strategic initiatives.Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications:Essential:A recognized accountancy qualification.At least 7 years post-qualification experience.Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, accounting standards, risk management, and financial reporting systems.Excellent communication, numeracy, professionalism, and IT skills, including proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.Strong analytical, problem-solving, influencing, and relationship-building skills.Proven experience in financial management within large, complex organizations.Desirable:Knowledge of higher education strategic landscape and funding trends.Experience with financial evaluation techniques (NPV, CBA, MCA).Understanding of public procurement, governance, and compliance guidelines in Irish universities.Experience in change management and business coaching within the higher education sector.
