Principal Specialist Psychologist in Neonatology
The purpose of this post is to lead the development of evidence-based, priority holistic and patient-centred psychological care for infants, parents, family members and caregivers attending the Neonatology speciality at CHI. The postholder will join the existing MDT team, including senior psychology colleagues, to support children and families attending the service and will lead cohesive service development, providing psychological care to infants, parents and families, reflective practice/staff debriefing, teaching and innovation where required.
Essential Requirements:
Have a recognised honours degree in psychology
Have a recognised postgraduate qualification in clinical or counselling psychology
Have a minimum of eight years postgraduate experience in clinical or counselling psychology (inclusive of time spent in training), at least three of which are at senior grade
Those who have completed their postgraduate training outside of Ireland must ensure that their qualification is validated by the Department of Health and Children
Have extensive relevant paediatric psychology training and experience relevant to the GHIFT (Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Intestinal failure and transplant speciality)
Have postgraduate experience of working in an acute hospital setting
Demonstrate competence in clinical audit and research skills
Possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for proper discharge of the duties of the post
