Base pay range
We are looking to recruit an Actuary to join our Finance and Actuarial function in Dublin, Ireland.
The role holder will have general responsibilities within the integrated actuarial function encompassing reserving, capital and pricing. The role also involves specific responsibilities in support of the Group Chief Actuary in his role as Head of Actuarial Function (HoAF) for NSEU, with the aim of taking over this role in due course.
What will you be doing?
Key responsibilities will include:
* Conduct or review the calculation of GAAP technical provisions, co-ordinating with data providers, validating data, providing judgement for selection of provisions and reporting to the Reserving Committee and Finance.
* Coordinate, conduct or review the subsequent calculation of the Solvency II Technical Provisions and assist the Finance team with regulatory submissions.
* Support the HoAF’s provision of an annual Actuarial Opinion on Technical Provisions and related Actuarial Report on Technical Provisions.
* Support the HoAF’s contribution to risk management, including provision of annual opinions on the ORSA process, underwriting policy and reinsurance arrangements.
* Provide training and leadership to direct reports to complete tasks and aid their development.
* Plan project workflows and assign team tasks.
About you
Skills/Qualifications/Experience
* Qualified actuary for at least three years.
* Experience of reserving in non-life insurance business.
* Ability to juggle multiple varied tasks simultaneously.
* Problem solving abilities.
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Proficiency in Excel.
* Experience of engaging with auditors and regulators.
* Experience of presenting to management committees and boards.
* Experience of capital modelling, pricing and regulatory work.
* Experience of leading a team with focus on coaching and development.
* Proficiency in R, ResQ and ReMetrica.
* Knowledge of international trade, particularly the maritime sector.
