About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified individual to act as the Designated Person (DP) for Investment Management, in accordance with the Central Bank of Ireland’s CP86 requirements. The successful candidate will oversee the investment activities of funds, with a specific focus on semi-liquid investment strategies (e.g., open-ended funds with limited liquidity windows) and directly held assets (e.g., real estate, private credit, infrastructure, or similar).

Key Responsibilities:

* Fulfil the CP86 Designated Person role for Investment Management and act as the point of accountability for the investment function.
* Ensure the investment management framework adheres to regulatory obligations, fund documentation, and internal policies.
* Oversee and challenge investment performance, risk alignment, and liquidity management in relation to semi-liquid and direct asset strategies.
* Conduct and document regular due diligence on investment managers and sub-advisers, especially in alternative asset classes.
* Monitor the ongoing performance of investment managers against benchmarks, mandates, and key risk indicators.
* Assess and escalate material changes to investment strategies or personnel within appointed managers.
* Ensure appropriate liquidity stress testing and monitoring frameworks are in place, in line with product type and investor dealing frequency.
* Oversee fair valuation processes for hard-to-value assets, including the review of independent valuation sources and pricing methodologies.
* Work closely with Risk and Compliance to ensure investment risks (market, liquidity, credit, etc.) are appropriately measured and managed.
* Ensure all regulatory reporting and disclosures (e.g., AIFMD, UCITS, SFDR) are accurate and timely with respect to investment data.

Board Reporting

* Prepare and present investment-related materials to the Board and relevant Committees, ensuring clear articulation of performance, risks, and issues.
* Provide proactive insight into macroeconomic trends, market conditions, and strategic asset allocation considerations.

Qualifications & Experience:

* Minimum 10 years’ experience in investment management or asset oversight, with specific exposure to semi-liquid and/or alternative assets.
* Demonstrable knowledge of regulatory requirements under CP86, AIFMD, and relevant ESG frameworks.
* Strong understanding of fund structures.
* Previous experience in a Designated Person role or Pre-Approved Control Function (PCF-39D) with the CBI is highly advantageous.
* Proven ability to challenge investment managers constructively and provide strategic input at a senior level.
