Overview
Permanent senior technical role in the ICT Facilities team in Trinity’s IT department, reporting to the ICT Facilities Manager. The post holder will provide expertise in the advanced configuration, management and support of the university’s wired and Wi‑Fi networks including the physical information transport infrastructure, access layer and aggregation layer network equipment. The role involves project management of structured cabling infrastructure installs and active equipment in telecommunications rooms, and requires experience with IT network equipment, environmental controls, UPS, CCTV and physical access control in telecommunications rooms and data centres. The post holder will manage vendors and contractors, liaise internally, and coordinate with Estates and Facilities and IT Services.
Responsibilities
* Advanced configuration, management and support of Trinity’s wired and Wi‑Fi networks and the physical information transport infrastructure.
* Manage access layer and aggregation layer network equipment and use specialist Wi‑Fi design software.
* Provide operational support to the college community (staff and students) regarding all aspects of the Trinity network under the remit of ICT Facilities.
* Project manage structured cabling infrastructure installs and active equipment in telecommunications rooms.
* Experience with IT network equipment, environmental controls, UPS, CCTV and physical access control in telecommunications rooms and data centres.
* Vendor and contractor management, internal liaison, and coordination with Estates and Facilities and IT Services.

* Experience of IT network equipment and related infrastructure, environmental controls, UPS, CCTV and physical access control in telecommunications rooms and data centres.
* Ability to work on own initiative and resolve problems, with a track record of delivering results.
* Strong communication and liaison skills to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
Employment terms
* Post status: Permanent Contract
* Hours of post: 36.5 hours per week
* Salary: CTO Specialist Salary Scale (€69,114 - €78,071 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
