Job DescriptionJob Title: Social Care Worker
Employer: Whisbay Ltd Hiring Team T/A KarePlus (Dublin City North)
Location: Dublin 11, D11 ED6D
Hours: 40 hrs/w
Responsibilities: Participate in implementing Care and Placement Plans, ensuring proper documentation.
Advocate for the rights of each child/young person within the service.
Encourage attendance at school, training centres, and medical and clinical appointments.
Provide support to young people to attend these appointments when required.
Communicate with parents, family, general services, and other agencies on behalf of the young person.
Attend meetings related to the care and progress of the young person.
Engage in age-appropriate play and activities with each child/young person within the service.
Promote children's and young people's participation in decision-making on issues that affect their lives.
Prepare and provide high-quality, well-balanced meals in conjunction with the young people to ensure alignment with their dietary needs and preferences.
Undertake various aspects of home management, including household budgeting, upkeep, and cleaning.
Be accountable for any money spent on behalf of Tusla during duty.
Provide daily written and verbal reports to the Care Manager on the young person's progress and development.
Ensure consistency and follow-through on interventions between shifts.
Provide shift leadership as needed.
Participate in working within a team-centred, consistent approach.
Cooperate with the Care Manager to arrange duty rosters according to service requirements.
Be familiar with emergency procedures and know who to contact in an emergency.
Engage in reflective and evidence-based practice.
Comply with policies, procedures, guidelines, and safe, professional practices, adhering to relevant legislation, regulations, and standards.
Participate in regular, relevant training applicable to the role and apply gained knowledge and skills to maintain standards of care in the areas of health and safety, safeguarding, infection control, crisis intervention, first aid, etc.
Develop effective professional working relationships with all staff.
To maintain skills at a current level and undertake such training and development as may, from time to time, be required to keep practices up to date.
Support an open, positive and inclusive working culture, ensuring a transparent and declarative approach.
Minimise legal risks through adherence to best practices in line with policies and procedures.
Participate in the maintenance of Kare Plus management information systems as required.
Assist in formulating and implementing care policies and procedures where required.
Work in a cost-effective manner.
Systematically solve day-to-day problematical issues and challenges which may arise.
Act as an ambassador for Kare Plus when on duty.
