About the Role A leading player in Ireland's renewable energy sector is seeking a highly experienced Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Specialist to join their dynamic team. Based in Kildare, this permanent position reports to the Planning Programme Manager and plays a critical role in the successful delivery of EIA Reports and Appropriate Assessments for major renewable energy infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities Lead the full EIA process for large-scale renewable energy developments, including the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR) and Natura Impact Statements (NIS). Provide expert environmental guidance to support planning activities and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation. Monitor and interpret changes in environmental and planning policy, contributing to internal strategy and policy submissions. Collaborate with stakeholder engagement teams to support effective communication and consultation with local communities and statutory bodies. Prepare and manage specifications for third-party environmental services and assist in procurement processes. Ensure all activities align with relevant health, safety, and environmental policies, as well as national and EU legislation. Mentor and support junior team members, particularly in areas related to EIA and Appropriate Assessment. Actively contribute to performance management and continuous improvement initiatives across the planning function. About You Qualifications & Experience: Honours Degree (Level 8) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field is essential. A postgraduate qualification (Level 9) in a relevant discipline is desirable. Minimum of 5 years' experience leading the preparation of EIAR and AA/NIS for large-scale development projects. Proven track record managing multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of EIA documentation. Strong knowledge of Irish planning law, environmental legislation, and EIA policy. Experience in the renewable energy sector or Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID) projects is advantageous. Technical expertise in a relevant EIA discipline (e.g., ecology, noise, air quality) is a plus. Whats on Offer The opportunity to work on nationally significant renewable energy projects.
