Job Purpose
1. To manage and develop customer projects and opportunities to achieve our business objectives
2. To achieve annual sales targets for Characterisation products within the assigned territory
Primary Responsibilities
* Management of existing customers and generation of new accounts through prospecting, lead generation and follow up in both existing and new industry segments
* Effective territory management with direct responsibility for sales projects and negotiations
* Support the development of customer applications with characterisation instruments
* To ensure timely use of the company's CRM system in recording all customer communication
* Visiting customer sites on a regular basis to give sales presentations, perform instrument demonstrations and train customers on the correct use of their equipment
* Support the development of marketing communications with customers
Secondary responsibilities
* To build strong working relationships with our sales, service, administration, marketing, and production teams in order to achieve both individual and team success
* Build the awareness of our competence in order to generate new sales opportunities
* Participation at conferences and exhibitions
* To effectively use our demo database to track inventory movements within the sales team and with customers
* Any other duties as might reasonably be expected or requested by the line manager
Person specification
* Degree in physics, chemistry, material science or related discipline
* Experience of successfully selling analytical instruments. Materials characterisation sales experience would be an advantage but full training will be provided.
* Good knowledge of theory and applications surrounding the Anton Paar characterisation product portfolio
* Ability to effectively communicate with laboratory managers, professors, PhD level scientists and technicians.
* Strong team player. Able to forge strong working relationships with others in order to achieve both personal and team success
* Strong computer literacy and software skills
* Problem solving for complex application needs
* Good attention to detail
* Flexible working attitude
* Comfortable in presenting to large groups
* Availability to travel throughout Ireland and occasionally overseas for training and business meetings
* Field based, working primarily from a home office
* Within easy access of the Irish motorway network
* IE/UK driving licence
* Able to work away from home including short periods overseas (typically week's duration) as required
