Job Description:
You will be responsible for overseeing the entire retail operation. This includes strategic planning, financial performance, sales growth, customer satisfaction, staff leadership, and compliance with manufacturer and regulatory requirements. The Dealer Principal ensures the dealership meets and exceeds both internal goals and manufacturer standards, while fostering a culture of high performance and integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
· Set the strategic direction and long-term vision for the dealership.
· Align business plans with manufacturer requirements and market opportunities.
· Lead departmental heads (Sales, Service, Parts, Finance, Admin) to meet and exceed performance targets.
Financial Management:
· Oversee dealership budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
· Monitor P&L statements, control costs, and optimize revenue streams.
· Ensure profitability and return on investment.
Sales and Operations:
· Drive new and used vehicle sales, service and parts
· Ensure high levels of stock control, vehicle turnover, and customer follow-up.
· Implement effective processes and best practices across all departments.
Customer Experience:
· Promote a customer-first culture throughout the dealership.
· Monitor CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) and ensure high satisfaction and retention levels.
· Handle key customer concerns and foster long-term client relationships.
Compliance and Manufacturer Relations:
· Ensure adherence to franchise agreements and brand standards.
· Maintain excellent relationships with OEM representatives.
· Implement effective processes and best practices across all departments.
Customer Experience:
· Promote a customer-first culture throughout the dealership.
· Monitor CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) and ensure high satisfaction and retention levels.

Team Leadership & Development:
· Recruit, train, and retain high-performing staff across all departments.
· Set performance expectations and lead regular performance reviews.
· Promote professional development, succession planning, and a positive workplace culture.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Proven experience as a Dealer Principal, General Manager, or senior leadership role in automotive retail.
· Strong understanding of dealership operations (sales, aftersales, finance, HR, compliance).
· Excellent commercial, financial, and strategic planning skills.
· Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
· Knowledge of DMS (Dealer Management Systems) and digital retailing tools.
· Ability to work under pressure, solve complex problems, and drive change.
