The role
Company Description
Deerpark Civil Engineering (DCE) provides specialized staffing solutions through well-resourced, supported, and experienced site engineers and land surveyors. DCE focuses on delivering reliable, professional surveying and engineering support to construction and infrastructure projects. Candidates can expect a structured, safety-conscious environment with access to modern surveying equipment and support.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Land Surveyor role based in Dublin. You will be assisting the CCE (Chief Civil Engineers Dept.) of Irish Rail with adhoc surveying and data processing duties as directed by CCE.
Instruments used will consist of track trolleys, 3D scanners, an inertial measurement unit, total stations and GNSS which will allow us to undertake high-accuracy surveying and monitoring tasks which in-turn feed-in directly to track and structure design and monitoring work-flows.
Most of the site-work will take place at night and there will be a portion of work which will happen during the day, such as bridge scans and installing new control for example. Post-processing and analysis work will also be an important part of the job and this can take place during normal day-time working hours.
Irish Rail will provide all necessary surveying / data processing equipment and training on the more rail specific technology such as the trolleys and IMU etc. but the basics of best practice surveying will form the foundation of this work. Tasks will include establishing high-accuracy control, levelling loops, setting-out using GNSS and TS and machine-control as well as the office based tasks such as data processing/analysis and data management (towards BIM).
A major aspect of the work is using the Trimble Gedo to perform track trolley surveys, deformation monitoring using scanners and 3D modelling.
