The Venue Manager is responsible for the overall management of the accommodation offering at Rockfield House, ensuring an exceptional guest experience from booking to departure. The role also includes supporting on-site events and group stays, overseeing operations, staff, and standards across the property.
Key Responsibilities
Accommodation Operations
* Co-ordinate all accommodation operations, including reservations, check-ins/check-outs, and guest communications
* Ensure guest rooms and shared areas are maintained and presented to the highest standard
* Manage housekeeping schedules, laundry, and room turnover
* Monitor occupancy levels and availability, optimising bookings and guest flow
Guest Experience
* Act as the primary point of contact for accommodation guests
* Handle guest enquiries, special requests, and issue resolution in a professional and welcoming manner
* Maintain high service standards
Staff & Team Management
* Manage housekeeping and support staff
* Prepare staff rotas
Property & Compliance
* Oversee property maintenance and coordinate repairs with contractors
* Ensure compliance with health & safety and accommodation regulations
Financial & Commercial Management
* Monitor room rates, group pricing, and accommodation profitability
* Manage day to day accounts and track payments
Events & Group Bookings
* Coordinate accommodation for group stays and events
* Support events set up and management
Marketing & Bookings Support
* Assist with online listings, booking platforms, and guest communications
* Support marketing initiatives related to accommodation and overnight stays
* Build relationships with local tourism partners and service providers
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience in accommodation management, hospitality, or hotel operations
* Strong organisational and people-management skills
* Excellent guest service and communication abilities
* Experience managing housekeeping and property operations
Desirable
* Experience with boutique, luxury, or heritage accommodation
* Familiarity with booking systems
* Social media and marketing experience and/or training
* Good financial and operational awareness
