Toolmaking Professional
Job Summary:
The Toolmaking Professional is responsible for maintaining and repairing high-precision moulds, as well as manufacturing and repairing jigs and fixtures. This role requires a strong understanding of toolmaking processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Repair and maintain all high-precision moulds, including multi-cavity moulds, Hot Runner moulds, Valve-gated moulds, and Stack moulds.
* Compile standard specifications, procedures, and records for each mould and monitor existing moulds to standard specifications.
* Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools using machine tools and hand tools.
* Work with production and engineering teams in troubleshooting mould problems.
* Carry out tool builds, support initial tool trials and validations, and ensure highest quality and compliance standards.
* Identify and generate opportunities for improvement and actively participate in the implementation of corrective action plans and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
* Toolmaking qualification and over ten years served in a toolmaking role.
* Good knowledge of injection moulding tooling, trouble shooting, repair, and maintenance.
* Understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics an advantage.
* Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, IT, and communication skills.
