Graduate Mechanical Engineer We are recruiting for a leading, family-owned engineering firm in Co. Cork that specialises in the design and manufacture of high-quality equipment. We are seeking a motivated Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join their innovative R&D and production team. This is a fantastic entry-level role for a hands-on engineer interested in the agricultural sector, offering the chance to see designs move rapidly from the CAD screen to the manufacturing floor. Core Responsibilities Design & Drafting: Create and update 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings for livestock handling systems and farm infrastructure using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks). Product Development: Assist senior engineers in developing new products, focusing on animal welfare, safety, and ease of installation. Manufacturing Support: Work closely with the workshop team (welding, laser cutting, and galvanising) to ensure designs are optimised for manufacturability and cost-efficiency. Technical Documentation: Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and technical manuals for new and existing product ranges. Prototyping: Assist in the assembly and testing of prototypes, gathering feedback from field trials to refine final designs. Candidate Profile & CompensationEssential Criteria Degree (Level 7 or 8) in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related discipline. Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks experience is a distinct advantage). A practical, hands-on background or a strong interest in the agricultural/farming sector. Good understanding of steel fabrication processes (welding, bending, and finishing). Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to learning within a fast-paced environment. Compensation Salary Range: €35,000 €40,000 per annum (Negotiable based on internship experience or technical project work).
