We are recruiting a Project Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor to join our Cork team.

The role of the Project HSE Advisor is to guide, support, and advise Project Managers and relevant personnel on establishing, implementing, and maintaining HSE systems and standards on site, in accordance with BAM Safety and Environmental Management Systems.


Your mission

1. Promote safe working practices and ensure the implementation of company HSE policies and procedures on site.
2. Carry out regular site HSE inspections and report findings to relevant personnel.
3. Ensure the project has the necessary HSE documentation.
4. Ensure HSE project plans meet company standards.
5. Discuss HSE issues at project review meetings.
6. Maintain clear records for internal and external audits.
7. Assist with risk assessments and sub-contractor evaluations.
8. Deliver HSE training as appropriate.
9. Promote incident prevention initiatives.
10. Support incident investigations.
11. Stay updated on HSE legislation.
12. Promote BAM HSE ethos, values, and concepts.
13. Model safe behaviour.
14. Perform other relevant duties as required.
15. Liaise with legal authorities (H.S.A, EPA, etc.).
16. Understand legal requirements related to PSCS role.
17. Attend HSE meetings.
18. Investigate accidents and incidents, report to HSE & Sustainability Manager with causes and recommendations.
19. Provide quarterly HSE information to the department.


Who are we looking for?

1. Level 7 qualification in Health and Safety.
2. At least 3 years postgraduate experience in Project HSE Management.
3. Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
4. Working towards IOSH graduate membership.
5. Ability to deliver internal HSE training.
6. Ability to advise on HSE issues on site.
7. Experience in accident/incident investigations.
8. Ability to write HSE site reports.
9. Environmental Management qualification is desirable.
