Endoscopy Staff Nurse Dublin | Permanent | Full-Time Bon Secours Hospital Dublin is currently seeking applications for the position of Endoscopy Staff Nurse to join our dedicated and dynamic Endoscopy team. Purpose of the Role To work collaboratively with the Nursing team to ensure excellence in patient care through the effective and efficient use of resources and the delivery of safe, high-quality nursing practice. The successful candidate will provide professional, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care while supporting continuous quality improvement and service excellence within the Endoscopy Unit. General Nursing Responsibilities Deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred nursing care from admission through to discharge Complete nursing assessments, care plans, and all relevant documentation accurately and efficiently Communicate effectively with nursing, medical, and multidisciplinary teams using approved ISBAR handover tools Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in line with hospital policy and NMBI standards Administer medications and maintain medication records in accordance with hospital policy Perform IV Cannulation in accordance with hospital guidelines Respond effectively and calmly in emergency situations Provide leadership and support in the absence of the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) Mentor and support student nurses, newly qualified nurses, and healthcare assistants Participate in quality improvement initiatives, accreditation processes, and ongoing professional development Ensure effective stock control and resource management within the department Report and document incidents, adverse events, and concerns in accordance with hospital procedures and Q Pulse reporting requirements Promote a professional, caring, and respectful environment for patients, families, colleagues, and all service users Endoscopy-Specific Responsibilities Assist medical staff during endoscopy procedures Monitor and assess patients before, during, and after conscious sedation Respond promptly and appropriately to any adverse reactions or complications Adhere to all policies and procedures relating to the care, cleaning, and decontamination of endoscopes Ensure correct handling and management of specimens in line with hospital guidelines Essential Requirements Registered General Nurse with current NMBI registration Previous acute hospital nursing experience Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team Strong organisational and clinical skills Flexible and adaptable approach to service delivery Commitment to continuous professional development Desirable Experience Previous Endoscopy experience Experience caring for patients undergoing conscious sedation IV Cannulation competency Closing Date for Applications: 22nd May 2026 Bon Secours Health System is an equal opportunities employer.
