Job Description
The Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring regulatory compliance within the Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharmaceutical sectors.
* Ensure adherence to statutory regulations and internal policies and procedures.
* Coordinate environmental controls and guarantee IPC license compliance.
* Maintain accurate records and generate reports in a timely manner.
* Liaise with external EHS agencies, such as the EPA, to ensure environmental license compliance.
* Coordinate site environmental waste management and drive continuous improvements.
* Ensure compliance with Battery, WEEE, and Waste Packaging Directives for Europe.
* Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures.
* Implement and update EHS control procedures as necessary.
* Develop training programs and provide EHS training.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or health & safety (Level 8).
* Postgraduate degree in Health & Safety (Level 9).
* Related pharmaceutical/biosafety industry experience is required, including experience working in a regulatory environment.
* Demonstrate experience in managing EHS teams within the department or as part of a program initiative.
* Leading Root Cause investigations.
* Attention to detail and sound scientific problem-solving skills are essential for this role, particularly in an Occupational Health and Safety position in a manufacturing or process industry.
* A strategic mindset, envisioning future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies, is vital.
