Ensure that The Haven Hub CLG is operating in compliance with legislation, regulations, and best practiceGovernance & ComplianceManage the induction process for new Board MembersBe the main point of contact with the charity regulator on corporate governance issues.Keep informed of changes in legislation and regulationMonitor compliance of all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, providing advice and guidance to the board as required.Ensure all compliance policies (such as Conflicts of Interest and Gifts & Hospitality) are kept up to date, monitored and communicated effectively to all members.Review all policies and procedures of The Haven Hub and develop any policies that are required ensuring all are communicated effectively and appropriately to members.Liaise with Finance Director to sure all financial controls are in compliance with governance docs and best practiceEstablishment and Implementation of Protected Disclosures process that allows volunteers or other relevant stakeholder to raise concerns of possible improprietiesEstablish an efficient audit/investigation process where financial irregularities/fraud are suspectedTo review and recommend changes to the structure of The Board or management of the organisation where appropriateTo help arrange supports and sub-committees where relevantOperational CommitmentsVote as required on decisions regarding the Haven Hub CLG and accept the decision of the majority of the board on such decisions.Complete all mandatory volunteer training (e.g., Induction, QPR, MAPA, Child First).Provide a report at each Board meeting outlining updates and status of Chairperson responsibilities.Attend at least 70% of committee meetings.Legal ResponsibilitiesEnsure that the Haven Hub CLG is fulfilling its charitable objectives for public benefitEnsuring ongoing compliance with the organisations Governing Law and Charity Law.Accountability for the Charity’s operation and legal complianceManage Haven Hub resources responsibly with due careAct in the best interest of Haven Hub CLG at all times and ensure reasonable care, diligence, and skill in all activities and decisions.
