Clinical Board Member at turn2me: Focused on clinical standards and excellence aimed transforming the delivery of online mental health in Ireland
If you have clinical expertise, are an advocate of mental health and wellbeing and want to have an impact on the delivery and standards of care in the online mental health arena you could be our next Board member. We are seeking a Clinical Board Director who is a visionary in the online mental health space. In this voluntary role, you will be part of the board of trustees of the charity whose role is to oversee and ensure that the organisation complies with clinical and governance standards in the delivery of mental health care. You will also collaborate with the staff of Turn2Me, our board, and key stakeholders and challenge processes, clinical and ethical standards to ensure the organisation is consistently focused on continuous improvement acting in the best interests of users and those who seek mental health support online.
You have well-honed board management skills, are focused on overseeing clinical excellence and the use of technology to reach those who need support. Our organisation has grown and you will be part of the board of trustees tasked with overseeing the governance of the organisation and challenge when necessary to enable employees bring Turn2Me'sstrategy to life.
Clinical Board Member role & expectations
Turn2Me wants to appoint a clinical board member for the charity which has a €500k annual turnover, 4 employees and a community of circa 60 counsellors.
The ideal candidate embraces the governance responsibilities of a board trustee and is an independent thinker, focused on clinical excellence and positive health outcomes for Turn2Me's users.
NOTE:
This voluntary role is available with immediate effect and requires a commitment to the organisation of two years. Board meetings are held online via Zoom for one hour every six weeks.
Note: be aware that this is a non-paid role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Act as a strong advocate for mental health and the delivery of mental health services in Ireland.
* Provide clinical governance guidance and counsel to the board of trustees and the organisation with a focus on best practice, user safety and health outcome.
* Collaborate with Turn2Me's Clinical Team foster a culture of best practise, clinical safety, impact of health outcomes, innovation and excellence.
* Attend and actively participate in board meetings and important related meetings when required.

ABOUT Turn2Me
Turn2me (www.turn2me.org / www.turn2me.ie) is a registered charity operating in the e-mental healthcare space, its goal is to provide low cost and free mental health support online to people all over Ireland. The organisation was founded in 2009 stemming from the very personal experiences of Oisin and Diarmuid Scollard, who lost their brother to suicide in 2003. They had the vision to create a space for people to get professional support online. In 2013 Turn2Me gained the support of the HSE National Office for Suicide Prevention to deliver counselling online. In 2019 turn2me joined forces with ReachOut Ireland to create a space for young people to find information to support their mental health online. Turn2Me helps circa 10,000 adults living in Ireland every year and has helped over 130,000 adults living in Ireland every year.
