Responsibilities
Assist sessions for groups of people with sight loss as part of the suite of programmes at the Training Centre.
Assist the tutors in preparing courses, schemes of work, assessment tools and individual lessons appropriate to the interests, experience and existing knowledge of the learners in your class.
Contribute to the planning, development and implementation of training programmes developed through the person‑centred planning process.
Be responsible for an allocated area of the service to manage and develop. This entails responsibility for creating and monitoring appropriate sessions in that area, as well as relevant equipment and resources.
Troubleshoot issues with existing courses and update materials as necessary to incorporate a variety of interactive teaching methodologies.
Support and participate in the development and provision of accessible learning materials, ensuring compatibility with assistive tools such as screen readers, magnifiers and Braille resources.
Support the implementation of a universal design for learning approach with all Vision Ireland Training courses, incorporating a proactive approach to reasonable accommodation to help learners engage with education in a deeper and more meaningful way.
Eligibility & Requirements
Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for one year or more, or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility must be verified by the Department.
