As a Setting Out Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring that every structure is built exactly to plan. Working closely with site management and project engineers, you'll be responsible for providing precise measurements and control points that form the foundation of the construction process. Responsibilities: Using a range of surveying instruments, including Trimble total stations, GPS, and laser levels, to establish accurate control points and site measurements. Reviewing drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure construction work aligns perfectly with design intent. Marking out reference points and guiding construction teams during key phases of the build. Monitoring progress and verifying that work meets required tolerances, quality, and safety standards. Identifying and reporting any discrepancies or design conflicts and assisting the team in resolving them efficiently. Maintaining comprehensive records of setting out data, daily measurements, and inspection results. Preparing progress updates and technical reports for senior engineers and project managers. Ensuring all equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and safe to use. Supporting a culture of safety and excellence across all site operations. Requirements: A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Land Surveying, or a related discipline. 2+ years' experience in a similar setting out or site engineering role. Proven experience with Trimble instruments and familiarity with total stations, GPS, and laser levels. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design software. Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to interpret and apply technical data accurately. Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
