Role Overview
We are currently seeking a
Mechanical Commissioning Manager
to join our team.
This role will be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of the Mechanical Commissioning (Cx) scope on large-scale data centre projects, ensuring all systems are commissioned safely, compliantly, and in line with programme milestones and client requirements.
Reporting to the Commissioning Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Management and supervision of Mechanical Cx Package engineers.
Set work scope and monitor delivery.
Communicate deadlines and Cx programme milestones.
Stakeholder management and detailed design review for CFCI and OFCI work packages.
Document and raise design/process queries to the system designer/client team for approval.
Plan and manage vendor FAT/FWT and possible attendance.
Manage CFCI and OFCI vendor Cx scope and communicate to all Mechanical Cx stakeholders.
Attend and provide input to Daily/Weekly Cx meetings (Internal, vendor, client).
Form, update, and submit Mechanical Cx progress and technical reports to line manager.
Coordinate and align with Project QAQC and AP Departments to achieve common objectives.
Manage, deliver, and obtain approval on relevant project Mechanical Cx documents such as Test Scripts, Compliance statements, etc.
Review and ensure compliance of project Cx documentation to achieve the necessary Cx level sign off.
Required Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a minimum of 5 years' experience in Mechanical Commissioning leadership roles.
Proven ability to maintain strong customer and stakeholder relationships while operating in a multi-contractor site environment.
Strong capability to interpret and interrogate system P&IDs.
Excellent understanding of EHS requirements related to mechanical commissioning activities.
Technical Knowledge
HVAC systems (CRAC, CRAH, AHUs, evaporative cooling, chillers, and associated controls)
Pumps and pumping systems (including pressure vessels)
Compressors
Process water systems
Fire-fighting systems (including pump houses and tanks)
Experience with testing and commissioning of water treatment plants is highly desirable.
Understanding of data centre standards (ASHRAE, LEED).
Strong understanding of data centre redundancy requirements (N+1, 2N).
Experience with Integrated Systems Testing (IST) is beneficial.
Process controls experience is beneficial.
Experience commissioning fuel oil systems.
Experience commissioning natural gas systems is beneficial.
Strong programme and deadline management skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced project environment.
