Then come and join our global team as Head of Logistics, at our facility in Swords, Dublin This is a key leadership position, with a team of over 30, responsible for Internal and External Logistics to feed both an internal manufacturing location, several off-site storage facilities, a demanding downstream customer base, and a significant 3PL arrangement. Siemens seek a high-paced individual who will set the tone for the logistics function, aligns operational output to support other peer functions (quality, manufacturing, planning). The individual is financially astute and can demonstrate a track record in driving change and motivating teams to perform against KPIs. Experience of managing large scale transformation projects is mandatory (Network Re-Design, WMS Implementation etc), and they will have demonstrable experience in managing significantly sized 3PL/Contract arrangements, including RFQ/Tendering process for same. The role will be accountable for the management of all inbound, outbound, and inter-facility transport movements, all end to end warehousing activities of goods receiving, storage, manufacture line feeding, dispatch, and a dedicated inventory control function ensuring inventory integrity (reconciliation, condition, rotation). Your tasks and responsibilities: As a senior member of the Material and Supply Chain function, contribute to developing the broader function strategy for both the site and the wider business. Drive efficiencies in the Logistics function by taking an holistic view of labour, storage transport and overall process flows from receipt to dispatch, with associated results reflected in favourable service and cost output. Forensically manage the cost base of both internal and external operations/supporting parties to deliver cost savings vs budget/determine appropriate value for money. Undertake a significant ownership role in determining supporting IT requirements for warehouse and transport operations, inclusive of necessary alignment/visibility of activities undertaken by external 3rd parties. Manage the current 3PL arrangements for both Logistics and Freight services. Be accountable for detailing the requirements for warehousing operations in an outsourced arrangement, through RFI/Q/P stages to identification of suitable 3rd party logistics provider and thereafter, potential physical move. Full ownership of inbound and outbound freight to ensure we are partnered with the right suppliers on the right modes at the right cost. Play a leading role in a significant transformational project to design, build, and commission a new Logistics Centre on site in Swords, ensuring business continuity programmes are robust through to new centre commissioning. Ensure the Inventory Control program is robust by driving ownership and accountability at all levels, with clear processes and performance measurement standards. Maintain and improve inventory accuracy, driving a culture of control and inventory record discipline Maintain a set of KPIs, conduct customer surveys (internal and external) and hold business reviews to track and improve the effectiveness, efficiency and service provision of the function to internal and external stakeholders Actively and visibly promote a strong safety culture. Work collaboratively with all other departments to meet the overall site priorities and objectives Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring for direct reports, acting as a role model for the Healthineers values. Associated qualifications of APICS, IPMM, Six Sigma are distinctly advantageous 10+ years' experience in a large scale, complex, multinational manufacturing environment, with 7+ years of significant Logistics management experience. Associated broader direct experience in associated functions such as Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing would be advantageous. Direct accountability for significant financial budgeting, including setting and managing, cost containment and reduction programmes. Takes ownership for function performance and builds a supporting culture of ownership, where direct team members participate, are mentored, assume responsibility for task/KPI accomplishment. Track history of driving transformational business change and delivering tangible results - strong sense of urgency and responsiveness. Experience in managing 3PL warehousing and freight spend in excess of €several mio p.a. A working knowledge/direct experience of the following: Manufacturing and Production Control Systems, Material Planning and Purchasing Systems, Global Contract Agreements & Global Logistics Programs. Strong ability to utilize the capability of ERP systems (Preferably SAP) to drive process improvement and provide decision making information, track activity and track performance. Advanced problem solving, planning, project management, budgetary, negotiation and analytical skills. Experience of working with cross functional groups and communicating effectively at all levels within and outside the organization. Collaborating on wider business and organizational performance vs. a pure functional focus.
