Plant Operator Contract Duration/Employment Type: Permanent Location: Vartry, Co. Wicklow Hybrid/Onsite: Onsite Working Pattern: Day Role - 8 hour Daily Shift 06:00 - 15:00 or 09:00 - 18:00 Overview of the role: Vartry Water Treatment Plant is the newest drinking water treatment plant in Ireland today, and we need operators to assist in supplying 75 million litres of clean water to Dublin per day.
The newly upgraded plant comprises DAF clarification, filtration, UV and pH correction, as well sludge dewatering, with automated systems to control all aspects of the operation.
We are looking for Plant Operators to assist in all aspects of this site, from general cleaning tasks, to assisting in process improvements and visual checks on water quality.
There are daily tasks to be undertaken, as well as visual checks, automation system monitoring and adjustment, data logging, and tanks to be regularly maintained and cleaned.
We are looking for people who want to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, learn new skills, and work in a top-rated environmental company with over 600 employees.
Duties of the Role include; Monitor the plant and operation of plant machinery and carry out any relevant maintenance work Use of remote monitoring tools as appropriate to verify plant condition Availability for response to plant failures outside normal operation hours in accordance with roster for same, and general availability to assist in remote troubleshooting where appropriate Assist with On Call as above, one week in four Provide accurate reporting as necessary including inputting and operating computer maintenance system General house-keeping cleaning duties Liaise and interact with the Plant Manager and other operators on site, as well as other contractors from electrical and mechanical disciplines Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the plant's performance management system and the company's quality management system, safety rules, health and safety legislation and relevant environmental standards Adhere to the company's ethical conduct guidelines and maintain a working environment which is supportive and respectful of other employees Undertake duties of a general nature that may be required by your manager Required skills for this role: Leaving certificate or equivalent Job experience in a mechanical or industrial setting Willingness to learn new skills and work with other disciplines Please note: ?If you are an EU/EEA national, you will be asked to show proof of right to work in Ireland.
