A well-established NI engineering manufacturer is seeking a Design Engineer to join its engineering team. The business is a recognised leader within the heavy engineering sector, known for its strong commitment to safety, compliance and engineering innovation. Its products are widely regarded for setting new standards in attachment safety and performance.Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the design, development and ongoing improvement of engineered products, while working closely with manufacturing and production teams to ensure efficient, high-quality output within a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop engineering solutions for existing and new productsCreate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for production and new product developmentProcess engineering and production change ordersManage machine and product specification changesProvide technical design support to the manufacturing departmentAssist with the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle from an engineering perspectiveSupport the creation and maintenance of production schedules where requiredDrive and contribute to continuous improvement and value engineering initiativesWhat You'll Need to SucceedMinimum HNC/HND in Engineering, or equivalent hands-on industry experienceProven experience using 3D CAD / modelling software (essential)Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Infor experience advantageous)Competent user of Microsoft Office applicationStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasksAbility to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlinesWell-organised with a logical and methodical problem-solving approachStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teamsWhat You'll Get in ReturnSalary between £35,000 - £40,00037.5 hour working week Early Friday finish Flexible working arrangements Life Assurance Company Pension Scheme Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
