Application Support Specialist
Overview
As Trading Application Support Engineer, you will join the existing ultra‑low latency support team and provide technical and administrative support for all trading, operational and support systems within the team. This is a demanding and highly technical role which requires strong technical systems and application knowledge in making critical support decisions while working under pressure.
In this role you will
* Address queries and investigate issues.
* Act as primary escalation point for these issues.
* Troubleshoot and optimize proprietary applications.
* Real‑time monitoring of monitoring applications and responding to hardware/software failures.
* Deploy, review and test changes to the production trading environment, including software‑related deployments.
* Work on short & long‑term projects, varying greatly.
* Collaborate with development and engineering teams to design new and improve functionalities within the production environment.
What We're Looking For
* Knowledge and desire to develop networked application systems, exposure to database environment, Windows (2012, 2019).
* Knowledge of scripting: PowerShell, Python, Windows Batch, etc.
* Excellent IT analytical/troubleshooting skills, extensive experience tracing problems through analyzing log files, following application/systems logic.
* Experience working with a batch scheduling system is an advantage.
* Experience with application monitoring and analytical tools such as Splunk, Check_mk, etc.
* B.S. in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
* Initiative, proven record of seeking continuous improvement and implementing best practice in technology environment.
* Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
* Self‑motivated and creative.
* Strong communication (verbal and written).
* Attention to detail, thorough work.
* Interpersonal skills, friendly and approachable.
