Red Chair Recruitment is partnering with a global leader in satellite communications to find a Senior Software Engineer for their state-of-the-art Innovation and Engineering center in Killarney, Co. Kerry.
Responsibilities:
1. Analyze requirements and design efficient software solutions.
2. Contribute to product development in areas like software architecture, infrastructure performance, testing, and reliability.
3. Research, design, develop, test, integrate, and document software functionality within an Agile framework.
4. Collaborate with other engineers on solution designs.
5. Assist with system testing, including design, automation, and execution.
6. Debug code and participate in system integration.
Qualifications:
7. BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
8. 5+ years of industry experience in programming and software engineering.
9. Hands-on experience with C++ and Linux development.
10. Strong understanding of object-oriented design, modeling, and programming.
11. Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language.
12. Scripting experience (shell scripting, Python, etc.).
13. Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking protocols.
14. Experience with Cloud-based development environments and architectures.
15. Familiarity with version control systems (Git).
Bonus Points:
16. Experience with telecommunications systems (3GPP, 5G, ORAN, MEC, IoT).
17. Experience with Satellite/Terrestrial communications systems.
18. Proficiency in professional software engineering practices and best practices, including UML.
19. Experience with network management systems, virtualization, and Cloud Provider Platforms.
20. Expertise in test automation integrated in a CI/CD pipeline.
