The Food Service Worker is responsible for cooking and preparing food according to recipes and production guidelines while adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. The Cook should safely handle knives and equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, broilers, etc.
Job Responsibilities
* Service of food and/or beverages to customers to the standards set by the company.
* Ensure all food hygiene regulations are adhered to, in particular H.A.C.C.P regulations.
* Perform cleaning duties associated with service and related equipment and/or furniture.
* Prepare the service area and/or service points.
* Clean and replenish service equipment.
* Store food items and equipment accurately after service.
* Assemble and serve food efficiently, which may include some light cooking.
* Monitor and record food and equipment temperatures.
* Handle cash transactions and follow accurate cash handling procedures in accordance with company and till policies.
* Attend in-house training sessions.
* Maintain personal hygiene, appearance, and uniform according to company regulations at all times.
* Present a professional image conducive to good customer relations.
* Comply with and promote the company's health and safety policies.
* Comply with and promote the company's policies and procedures.
* Perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure smooth department operations.
* Show an interest in food and service.
* Work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
* Complete paperwork as assigned by your line manager.
* Demonstrate dedication and self-motivation.
* Maintain good timekeeping.
* Contribute to high standards of personal hygiene.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a catering environment is desirable. On-the-job training will be provided. Must acquire basic food hygiene qualification within the first six months.
* Knowledge of Food Hygiene including HACCP.
* At least 1 year of experience in a similar environment.
