Quality Coordinator - Days
Lir Chocolates, Navan, County Meath, Ireland
In this role, you will assist the organisation in formulating quality standards and regulations, monitor the quality management system, ensure compliance with the latest quality controls, and help maintain company-wide standards.
Position type: Full-Time, Permanent.
Hours: 40
Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, 06:00 - 14:30, Monday - Thursday 06:00 - 16:30 (Rotating every 2 weeks)
Pay range: €14.70 /hour. (Salary equivalent €29,328.00)
Breaks: 30 minutes paid, 30 minutes unpaid
Responsibilities
* Maintain audit standards across the site and ensure food safety, quality, and integrity throughout production.
* Conduct line audits to verify product quality against QAS and ensure documentation is complete.
* Facilitate taste panels and complete scheduled GMP, hygiene, glass/brittle plastic, and CCP audits.
* Collaborate with production to resolve issues, prevent recurrence, and drive improvements.
* Calibrate key food safety equipment as required.
* Raise and investigate NCRs, ensuring timely closure with supporting evidence.
* Support quality and food safety investigations, reporting findings to the Quality Manager.
* Perform post-clean inspections using ATP and allergen swabbing.
* File retained samples and maintain easy access for audits and complaints.
* Oversee microbiological testing of products, environment, and water.
* Maintain and review product/process batch records and follow up on any out-of-spec results.
* Conduct internal audits as per the Quality Management System.
* Monitor ingredient shelf life and ensure proper batch rotation.
* Enforce hygiene compliance and allergen policy across all staff.
* Identify training needs to uphold quality standards.
* Verify product barcoding and ensure allergen procedures are followed.
* Implement, monitor, and review corrective actions.
Qualifications
Technical and Industry Knowledge
* Relevant experience in a similar industry – Food/FMCG
* Food Safety Level 2 (Essential)
* HACCP Level 2 (Essential)
* Allergen awareness
* Pest awareness
* Good GMP Audit Practice knowledge
* Previous experience with internal audits
* Good numerical skills and understanding of gap analysis
Computer and Analytical Skills
* Excellent computer skills
* Good knowledge of MS Office and databases
Personal and Interpersonal Skills
* Excellent communication skills

* Overtime available but not guaranteed: Any hours over 40 hours is time and a half. Saturday is time and a half for the first 4 hours then double time after 4 hours. Sunday is double time.
