Staff Software Engineer | Embedded & Secure Firmware | AI Inference AcceleratorsWe are working with a world-leading technology company based in Cork that is looking to expand its Cloud & Edge Computing team to find a Staff Software Engineer specialising in Embedded & Secure Firmware.The ChallengeMy client is developing next-generation platforms for both Edge and Data Centre deployments. As a Staff Engineer, you will be the technical lead for complex subsystems, with a heavy emphasis on Confidential Computing and Trusted Execution Environments (TEE) in multi-tenant server environments.The Technical CoreLow-Level Mastery: Deep C/C++ firmware development, BSP bring-up, and RTOS integration using GNU/LLVM toolchains.SoC Expertise: Practical knowledge of CPU cores, caches, MMU, and memory subsystems.Silicon Debug: Hands-on experience with JTAG/SWD, RAM dumps, and logic analysers.Security-First Design: Expertise in TrustZone, Secure Boot, and cryptographic primitives.The Differentiators (High Value)The team is particularly interested in candidates who can lean into the Security Track:Experience with PCIe-based platforms (SR-IOV, Trusted Device Assignment).Familiarity with industry specs: SPDM, TDISP, IDE/DOE, MCTP, or DICE.Exposure to the Confidential Computing Consortium or OCP standards.A background in RISC-V or Linux kernel/driver boundaries.Why This Role?Scale: You’ll be working on high-performance platforms that power global AI inference.Impact: Take architectural ownership while remaining hands-on with implementation.Environment: A high-calibre, international team working at the bleeding edge of silicon security.Experience Required: Typically 6+ years in Embedded/Firmware with a proven ability to lead complex technical projects.Interested?
