Job Description
Safeguarding digital assets and information is critical for any organization. As a Security Data Governance Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing, operating, and optimizing data governance and security frameworks within a global logging and monitoring ecosystem.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing, maintaining, and enhancing data platform tools supporting global security logging and monitoring infrastructure.
* Collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, ensure alignment with business needs, and implement robust data governance and security controls.
* Building and maintaining platforms used for incident response, threat detection, and IT operations, ensuring high availability and performance.
* Overseeing the ingestion, processing, and integration of large, complex datasets for real-time analytics and threat detection, leveraging technologies such as data mesh, data streaming, and SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk).
* Producing and maintaining high-quality documentation, standards, policies, and procedures to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance across all security data governance activities.
* Ensuring compliance with security and privacy standards (e.g., NIST, SOC, GDPR), conducting regular audits, and supporting incident management and continuous monitoring.
* Developing and automating scripts and workflows to streamline security data management and platform operations.
* Mentoring operations staff, providing escalation support for outages, and contributing to documentation and knowledge sharing.
* Monitoring data hygiene and quality, contributing to the ongoing improvement of an organization's data strategy and security posture.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* At least 5 years of experience in Information Security, with a focus on data governance, SIEM platforms, or security data engineering.
* Hands-on experience with SIEM technologies, especially Splunk, including administration, architecture, or support.
* Familiarity with information security compliance and audit frameworks (e.g., PCI, SOC, GDPR).
* Proficiency in automation, scripting, and regular expressions for data processing and platform management.
* Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
* A collaborative mindset, with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement in security data practices.
* Experience with Hyperscalers (e.g., AWS, Azure, and/or GCP) is a plus.
