Job Description:
OB Construction is seeking an experienced Accounts/Finance Professional to join its finance team. The successful candidate will assist the Financial Controller with day-to-day accounting activities, including month-end processes, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and accruals.
Main Responsibilities:
• Assist the Financial Controller with financial operations and provide support for the finance function.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, supplier payments, and creditor reconciliations.
• Maintain and reconcile bank accounts, and monitor cash flow on a daily basis.
• Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Support payroll processing and liaise with the payroll provider as necessary.
• Prepare monthly management reports, including profit and loss statements and variance analysis.
• Assist with audit and year-end preparation activities, providing required schedules and information.
Key Requirements:
• Part-qualified (CIMA/ACCA) or equivalent commercial accounting experience (minimum 1.5 years) with demonstrable month-end, reconciliations, and transactional competence.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good Excel skills and willingness to learn accounting software used by the business (XERO).
