We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Children's Disability Network Team (CDNT) in Donegal. This role offers the opportunity to work within a family-centred, interdisciplinary model, supporting children with complex developmental, functional, and sensory needs to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Occupational Therapist
* Provide specialist occupational therapy assessment and intervention for children with a range of disabilities and developmental needs.
* Manage a complex paediatric caseload in line with CDNT and HSE frameworks.
* Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team including Speech & Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Social Work, and other relevant professionals.
* Provide clinical supervision and support to staff-grade occupational therapists and students.
* Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and implementation of evidence-based practice.
* Liaise effectively with families, carers, schools, and external agencies to ensure coordinated care.
* Maintain high-quality clinical documentation in accordance with HSE and CORU standards.
Requirements for the Senior Occupational Therapist
* Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
* CORU registration (mandatory).
* Significant post-qualification experience working with children with disabilities or complex developmental needs.
* Strong clinical skills across areas such as functional skills development, sensory integration, motor skills, and participation in daily activities.
* Experience providing clinical supervision and demonstrating leadership within a team setting.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Experience
* Previous experience working within a CDNT or disability service.
* Experience with family-centred, interdisciplinary, or transdisciplinary models of care.
* Involvement in service development, audit, or quality improvement projects.
