Overview

Senior Electrical / Mechatronics Engineer – Full Time

As a Senior Engineer, you will take technical and operational ownership of complex weighing projects, from design to commissioning. This is a hands-on role involving system design and documentation, equipment assembly, FAT/SAT, and on-site commissioning. You will supervise and support a small team of engineers and technicians, ensuring quality and timely delivery of solutions that meet customer expectations. You will also contribute to the development of a Force Calibration Unit (FCU) system as a major innovation project for the business.

Close collaboration with the Projects Manager, Software Team, and Senior Management is central to this role, with frequent interaction with customers. The position offers variety, responsibility, and opportunities to grow within a high-performing engineering team.

Precia Molen is a global leader in industrial and commercial weighing solutions, designing, manufacturing, installing, and maintaining precision weighing equipment and systems for industries such as food and agriculture, manufacturing, waste management, construction, and pharmaceuticals.

The role is based in the Precia Molen offices in Clane, Co. Kildare, with occasional site work.


Responsibilities

* Design, build, and test weighing systems as part of the Projects Team
* Supervise a workshop team of engineers/technicians and coordinate tasks
* Quality control to ensure systems meet engineering, safety, and compliance standards
* Design and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and single-line diagrams for industrial systems
* Create detailed electrical drawings using AutoCAD (or similar) in compliance with company and industry standards
* Take technical and operational ownership of complex weighing and driver-operated system projects from design to commissioning


Requirements

* Third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering (minimum level 8)
* 3+ years of relevant experience
* Full driving license
* Eligible to work in Ireland
* Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
* Knowledge of construction techniques and ability to read schematics and drawings
* Understanding of industrial control panels
* Experience with low-voltage system design and implementation
* AutoCAD/SolidWorks – Electrical drawings
* Ability to work in a team with service engineers, software developers, and project managers


Preferred

* Background in the weighing industry
* Experience integrating with weighbridge indicators and peripherals


Location & Start Date

The role will be based in Clane, Co. Kildare, with a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Site work is required on occasion.

Start date: Immediate start
